Democratic (socialist/fascist) President Carter declares the Love Canal neighborhood of Niagara Falls, new york to be a Federal disaster and orders the Federal Disaster Assistance Agency to remedy the situation.  This will allow the state to begin purchasing the homes of 236 families who had to be relocated because of toxic chemicals underneath their neighborhood.  It is the first time emergency funding has been used for a man-made disaster.

       NOTE: This cost is paid for through the coerced collection of income taxes, unlawfully assessed against United states subject/enemy/citizens, who were not responsible for this tragedy; the Niagara Falls School District—a government protected education monopoly—which was ultimately responsible for the disaster was not compelled to bear this cost.
