Mayor Jan Kaplan, and Nina Vetter, City Manager, both of Newport, oregon, release public statements warning city residents of the intentions of the Department of Homeland Security (domestic military aggression) to construct an immigration detention facility in their community, and inviting them to attend a town meeting two days hence to discuss strategies directed at defeating the plan.
