1997/08/05

With the Federal budget allegedly in balance, the Republican (fascist/socialist) 42nd counterfeit CONgress (elected in accordance with the fraudulent 17th amendment) passes the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, raising the national debt limit from 5,500,000,000,000 to 5,950,000,000,000 “dollars.”

Question: If the Federal treasury was running a surplus, why was it necessary to raise the debt limit?

NOTE: So much for conservative Republicans!
