While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Vietnam, “united in determination to take all necessary measures in support of freedom,” Democratic (socialist/fascist) President Lyndon Johnson signs the Hart-Celler Immigration and Nationality Act, abolishing national-origin quotas in favor of hemispheric-origin quotas: “[I]t does repair a very deep and painful flaw in the fabric of American justice.  It corrects a cruel and enduring wrong in the conduct of the American Nation.”
