While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Iraq, the Philippines and west Africa defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” Republican (fascist/socialist) de facto President George W. Bush (having received an unlawful advantage of 52 ineligible Electoral votes) signs house joint resolution 51, raising the national debt limit from 6,400,000,000,000 to 7,384,000,000,000 “dollars.”
NOTES:
- Among the Republican legislators voting to increase the debt limit were senator John Kyl, of the Federal enclave of Arizona; senator Mitch McConnell, of the commonwealth of kentucky; CONgressman John Boehner, of the Federal enclave of Ohio; and CONgressman Eric Cantor, of the commonwealth of virgina.
- So much for conservative Republicans!

The supreme court of the corporate United states hands down Chavez v. Martinez: shooting a suspect and denying him medical care until he answers the questions of statute enforcement officers does not constitute “compulsory questioning”: being compelled to bear witness against oneself.
NOTE: The five bullets shot into Oliverio Martinez, a farm worker, left him blind and partially paralyzed. The interrogation of Martinez turned out to be fruitless, and he was therefore not charged with any crime.

The supreme court of the corporate United states refuses to hear North Jersey Media Group v. Ashcroft, reaffirming the decision of the court of appeals for the third circuit, allowing deportation proceedings to be conducted in secret (without due process).

The supreme court of the corporate United states hands down (Federal enclave of) Nevada Department of Human Resources v. Hibbs: The Family and Medical Leave Act applies to the state and municipal employees (government workers), as well workers for private businesses.
NOTE: Although the states are better suited to absorb these costs than private businesses, this decision represents a further erosion of State sovereignty.
