The “Islamic State” War of Independence ends with the conclusion of the Battle of Baghuz Fawqani (Syria): After six weeks of fighting, Commander-in-Chief Ferhat Abdi Sahin (a.k.a. Mazloum Abdi), of the Syrian Democratic Forces, defeats the “Islamic State” militia, commanded by Caliph (his title) Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
NOTE: With this defeat the IS became a defunct “state.” No longer having territory to govern, it reverted back to being a terrorist insurgency.
