While the army and navy of the United states are in the Pacific, fighting “for a world in which this [n]ation, and all that this [n]ation represents, will be safe for our children,” Commander-in-Chief Truman, under authority: of the Army Appropriations Act of 1916, issues Executive Order 9572 seizing the Toledo, Peoria & Western Railroad.
