The Trail of Tears: The first of 60,000 indi(genous Americ)ans, of Cherokee, Chickasaw, Creek, Choctaw, Ponca and Seminole heritage, begin their forced thousand-mile march from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee to the unorganized federal enclave west of the Mississippi River (Oklahoma).
Postscript: It is estimated that between eight to twelve-thousand iAs died enroute.
