1793/03/10

       The French Revolution morphs into the Reign of Terror—20 Ventose Year I: The National Convention, of the Republic of France, creates the Revolutionary Tribunal, a special court—from which there is no appeal—to hear cases involving treason against the state.

       NOTE: Up to 40,000 prisoners were either summarily executed without trial or died awaiting trial.
