Charles I (a Presbyterian, r. 1625-1649) dismisses Parliament for not submitting to his personal will. This was the third to have met during his reign. Charles will attempt to rule by the Divine Right of Kings (dictatorship).
Postscript: For more than a decade Charles would rule by the royal prerogative.
